It felt great to finally get the boat out for an evening on the water here in Newaygo!

The fish were definitely active. We hooked plenty of rock bass and a smaller smallmouth—nothing big enough to take photos of, but lots of action to keep the rods busy.

The highlight was landing a solid, decent-sized smallmouth bass. We also had two other good ones bite, but they managed to slip away before we could get them in!
